Due to the generous donation from Loyens & Loeff,  7 people from local communities and of all ranks were selected given intensive training on all aspects of anti-poaching. Also, all necessary equipment was purchased ranging from uniforms and handcuffs. We bought camp equipment such as little solar panels, water tanks, sleeping bags for sleep outs and training in the bush

Timbo Afrika Foundation was able to finance background checks, medical health checks

  • We were able to roll up a syndicate of 14 poachers in the area, people variering from the local butcher to riffle shop owners. It was a big operation financed privatly as support from the governement is, unfotunately, not possible. The procecution from these people is the hardest part.
  • Anti poaching and crime is a complex matter where oppositions between poor and law enforcement are so big that local communities punish poachers themselves. We try to prevent people from taking the matters into their own hands
  • Currently the Anti-Poaching Unit is active which has led to a considerable decrease in poaching activity.
