Timbo’s ‘Community based Tourism’ project focuses on the “empowerment” of local communities. In 2023 Timbo has been awarded the management of the Molema farm. On this farm of 4,000 hectares the local community will take full ownership of the accommodation/infrastructure.

Secondly: Timbo’s “Community Rhino Breeding” Timbo is currently busy re-introducing the rhino in the Tuli Block. The Community Rhino Breeding Project will be the next step, as it is the first local community-owned rhino breeding program developed on community land. This is a unique project where local communities will own and breed rhinos themselves. This project is also expected to attract many tourists. Profits will go directly to the local communities. Timbo supports and guides this project, and donations will be used for the training of members of the local communities in all necessary capabilities like management and animal policy, protection/anti-poaching, guiding/guarding etc.
